My painting "Conservation" was painted during the COVID quarantine. During this time I went back to basics, planting a garden and stockpiling food because of shortages. It made me reflect on my grandparents lives and the hardships that prior generations have endured. I wanted to elevate these canning jars and their beauty. They are not just utilitarian objects but pieces of sparkling art. I painted them lined up waiting to be put to use and do their part during this current hardship. These jars that still look the same as they did years and years ago. This painting is a tribute to my grandparents and to all prior generations that have come out on the other side of hardships. They symbolize hope and endurance.
